An exciting update from the fleet of yachts competing in the 26000NM World ARC Rally. A member of our Ensign community, Axel Jepsen is partaking in the challenge on his Nautitech 44 Open. In Leg 4 of the rally, from Santa Cruz, Galapagos to Hiva Oa, Marquesas (across the Pacific Ocean), 'Solaris' skippered by Axel Kepsen took first place in the Multihull Class A category. A truly impressive feat with many other multi's in this division, and a testament to the performance qualities of the Nautitech 44 Open.

World ARC 2024-25 Update – French Polynesia: Solaris, a Nautitech 44, is the first catamaran in this year’s World ARC rally to arrive in Hiva Oa, completing the ocean passage in just over 16 days. Owner and skipper, Axel Manøe Jepsen from Denmark, really enjoyed the 3,007-nautical mile sail across the Pacific Ocean with his two crew, Thorvald and Jørgen. He commented, “It has been my dream to cross the Pacific Ocean since I was 19. After reading a lot of previous passage reports about areas in the Pacific with no wind and slow sailing, it was with a certain amount of anxiety that we left Galapagos. “After Chris Tibbs’s weather briefing, we made a clear strategy and kept it. We went to 5⁰S and 100⁰W and then slowly towards Hiva Oa, always adjusting to squall activities. \ Our strategy worked well, as we clocked a new record for Solaris, sailing 240 miles in 24 hours. Most of the time we used the full main and our biggest Code 0. We opted for single watches of only two hours and then four hours of sleep, so nobody felt tired at any point. All in all, it was a fast but very relaxing and comfortable trip." Excellent sailing Solaris and we’re so glad you followed your dream with World ARC to cross the Pacific Ocean 😊

Another Nautitech 44 Open 'Sailing June' also participated in the ARC Rally last year with some great results against the other multihulls in the division. Take a look at the video interview below with the owners and hear more about why they love thier 44 Open.
